PICKSCORE
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This policy describes how PickScore handles information when you use our iPhone app, web app, and website. PickScore is responsible for the account and game information described here. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Information we use
- Your account: email address, display name, handle, profile image if supplied, sign-in provider identifiers, and secure session records. Email passwords are stored as hashes, not readable passwords. Apple and Google handle their own passwords.
- Your game: predictions, points, pool names and descriptions, memberships, and activity. Other players can see your public profile and standings; match predictions are hidden from other players until kickoff. Public pools are discoverable by other users.
- Security and operation: IP address, approximate country derived from network information, device/session identifiers, browser or app information, and error or request diagnostics. We use these to secure sign-in, troubleshoot problems, and understand service usage. The iPhone app does not request precise location access.
- Support: information you choose to include when you contact us.
Why we use it
We use account and game information to provide the service you request: signing in, saving predictions, managing pools, and showing scores and standings. We use limited security and diagnostic information to prevent abuse and keep the service reliable. Where consent is needed for an optional feature, you can decline it and continue using the core game.
Service providers and sharing
Hosting and delivery providers, including Hetzner and Cloudflare, process data to run and protect PickScore. Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser and device signals for email sign-in verification. Apple or Google processes sign-in information when you choose that provider. Sentry may receive backend error diagnostics. These providers may process information outside your country under their applicable data-protection arrangements. We do not sell your account information.
The web service uses Meta Pixel and Conversions API for advertising measurement, which may include interaction events and hashed account identifiers. Browser privacy controls and content blockers can limit browser-side tracking. The iPhone app does not include Meta Pixel and its requests are excluded from server-side advertising conversion events.
Notifications and information on your iPhone
Deadline reminders are optional local notifications. Your device asks for permission before sending them. Turn them off in PickScore or iPhone Settings. Reminders refresh when you open the app and may need refreshing after changes on another device. The app stores preferences on your device and keeps its sign-in session in the iOS Keychain.
Retention and account deletion
We retain your account and predictions while your account is active so you can revisit tournament history. In the iPhone app, open Profile → Delete account to permanently remove your account, sign-in records, predictions, points, and memberships from the active database. We revoke Apple sign-in access when applicable. Shared pools remain with a new owner; pools with no other members are deleted.
Restricted backups may retain earlier copies until the backups expire. They are used for recovery rather than ordinary access. Operational logs and information required to investigate abuse or meet legal obligations may be retained separately for those purposes. Contact us for details about retention or to exercise your rights.
Your choices and rights
You can update your display name in the app, turn off reminders, sign out, or delete your account. You can also ask us to provide a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or restrict or object to certain processing by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify account ownership. Depending on your location, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Changes and contact
We will update the date above when this policy changes and provide notice of material changes where appropriate. For questions, contact [email protected].
